This book gives an overview of the state of captive breeding and release of wildlife in Costa Rica by presenting case studies of: i) academic research of target species; ii) experiences of several captive breeding and release centers; and iii) in situ projects carried out on species that are subject of ex situ management in Costa Rica. Additional recommendations to improve the efficacy of ex situ management in Costa Rica are provided.
