Esta guía incluye 90 especies de los macrohongos más comunes, llamativos e interesantes de Costa Rica. Cada especie está descrita de manera que pueda identificarse a simple vista (macroscópicamente). La primera parte contiene aspectos generales de los hongos, luego se concentra en los macrohongos, anotando sus principales características macroscópicas para poder identificarlos, con la ayuda de ilustraciones. En la segunda parte encontrará las descripciones de las 90 especies, cada una con una fotografía e íconos que indican los usos, el hábitat, el tipo de relaciones que establece, el tamaño y la forma del cuerpo fructífero.
This guide describes 90 of the most common, striking and interesting macrofungi in Costa Rica. With these descriptions, it should be possible to identify each species by sight (macroscopically). This introduction gives a general explanation of the major features of the fungi, followed by a more de-tailed discussion of macrofungi, noting and illustrating the principal macroscopic characteristics useful in identification. The following section gives descriptions of the 90 species, each one with a photograph. The description includes characteristics of size, shape, color and texture of the parts of the fruitbody.
